Kalagarh Tiger Reserve
Lahermitage Resort is situated amid the Shivalik Mountain Range, Garhwal. With the launch of Project Tiger in 1974, the northern part of Corbett National Park was named Kalagarh Tiger Reserve. As the name suggests, the area has a high density of tigers and leopards.
Other wildlife includes deers-chital, barking deer, goral, sambar, and hog deer. With over 580 species of birds such as kingfishers, wagtails, forktails, pheasants, hornbills, eagles, vultures and about 50 species of mammals along with 25 species of reptiles like-crocodiles, king cobras, rock pythons and monitor lizards, the part of the park is a paradise for wildlife photographers and nature enthusiasts.
